C4792 Brown Menswear Houndstooth

Classic menswear patterns are a couple centuries old, and haven’t changed much over those years outside of some fashion innovators last century (that sounds so long ago, doesn’t it). Between the Glenn Plaids, Houndstooth prints and the Paisleys, the Menswear collection by Erin Turner for Penny Rose has a Scottish pedigree I think we should explore further.

Houndstooth checks were originally woven in wool in the Scottish lowlands. It has been recreated in several fabrics and in many scales over the years. Many will recognize it as the iconic fabric for the deerstalker style hat worn by Sherlock Holmes. More recently, legendary coach Paul ‘’Bear’’ Bryant’s hat was black and white houndstooth.
