Clam Up Pouch Class

In this beginner friendly class, you will learn how to create a set of five pretty and practical zippered bags.  The pattern includes instructions for making a XS, small, medium, large and XL bag.  During class, we will take you step by step through the process for creating the large bag.  Don't be afraid of zippers! You will learn basic making skills such as how to install a zipper; how to add a gusset; and how to bind the seams for a wonderful looking bag.  These useful little bags are fun and easy to make and are also great for gift-giving.

Supplies Needed: see back of pattern for details
- Clam Up Pattern
- 1 FQ main fabric (non-directional fabric will be easiest for your first bag but there are directions for using directional fabric)
- 1 FQ lining fabric
- Fat Eighth OR scraps of 8 fabrics used to make the bottom border
- ByAnnie's Soft & Stable (18"x58" will make all 5 bags)
- Iron-on vinyl laminate (optional)
- 24" or longer single-slide zipper
- 1/2" swivel hook (optional)
- Template plastic or freezer paper
- thread to match fabrics

What to bring to class:
- All the supplies listed above
- Basic supplies: sewing machine (don't forget your cord and pedal!), a seam ripper, 1/4" foot, zipper foot, rotary cutter, ruler, mat, scissors, spare needles for machine

Bring a sack lunch. We have a microwave, pod coffee maker, refrigerator etc.

Day of class and Cancellation Policy:

• Please arrive 15 minutes before class in time to set up so class can start on time.
• If you need to cancel a class, you can cancel up to seven days before the class to receive a shop credit. If MBF or the teacher must cancel the class you will receive a full refund.
